Temporary Club Hiatus in March :(

Aloha to all those North Shore runners out there interested in joining the Pau Hana Running Club!

Unfortunately, due to work travels and foot injuries -- the hosts of the PHRC are unable to participate in any runs for the rest of March. We apologize to any of those who are looking to join in.

We will be back in April and hope to see many new faces out there! Please check back at the end of March for updated information on the next run.

News Flash ! Scientists suggest beer after a workout :)

Researchers at Granada University in Spain have found that beer that can help the body rehydrated after a workout than water or Gatorade.

Professor Manual Garzon also claimed the carbonation in beer helps to quench the thirst and that its carbohydrate content can help replace lost calories, the Telegraph reports.

The study involved a group of students who were asked to work out until their body temperature reached 104 degrees. Researchers then gave a beer to half of the students and water to the other half.

Mr. Garzon announced the results at a press conference in Granada, saying the hydration effect in those who drank beer was "slightly better", the Telegraph reports.

A cardiologist with the Real Madrid football team, Dr. Juan Antonio Corbalan, told the paper he long has recommended barley drinks to professional sportsmen after exhausting activities.
